FALL "FLUTE" SESSION Registration NOW OPEN!
(To see a specific class/location, click on "classes" at the top of page).
Thank you for your interest in
our classes!
As a family in one of our classes, you and
your child will have the opportunity to play musically each week under
the guidance of one of our early childhood music specialists. During
class, you will sing and move to songs and rhythmic rhymes in a variety
of meters and tonalities by participating in activities that include
small and large movement, instrument play-alongs and community singing.
These fun activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented
musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children
and easy for parents and caregivers to participate in regardless of
their own musical ability!
Tuition includes (click on Registration page to see prices for the location you are interested in):
- Weekly 45 minute classes (9-11wks depending on location)
- A beautifully illustrated song book with activity suggestions
- Two professionally recorded CDs – one at home and one for the car!
- A Parent Guide DVD for new families called: “Music Together® at Home:
Helping Your Child Grow Musically.”
- Ongoing parent education program throughout the session to help
parents learn how children develop musically, and how to assess their
child’s rhythm and tonal development
Why Mixed Age Classes?
The mixed age (for birth to age 5) class follows the recommendations of child development researchers-grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Children of mixed ages participate at their own level by singing, moving, chanting, listening, and exploring with musical instruments.
