New to Music Together®? Here are answers to the questions families ask most often about our mixed-age music classes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their grownups.
Our mixed-age family classes welcome children from birth through age 5. Younger children learn by watching and imitating, while older children enjoy leading, helping, and exploring music in new ways.
During each 45-minute class, we sing, dance, play child-friendly instruments, explore rhythm, and move to music from many cultures. We finish with an energetic dance, a calming lullaby, and a goodbye song.
That is completely normal. Children may move, jump, watch quietly, or join in at their own pace. We create a welcoming environment where young children can learn through playful exploration.
Yes! Children learn by watching the adults they love. Parents, grandparents, nannies, and other caregivers are encouraged to sing, move, and play along—no musical experience required.
